Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?
Most couples book their wedding photography 9–18 months in advance, especially for popular summer weekends in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. Booking early ensures your date is reserved and allows us time to plan for engagement sessions, timeline support, and creative direction. That said, I occasionally have last-minute availability—so even if your wedding is coming up soon, please reach out to check my calendar.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes! While Vow House is based in Seattle, I frequently photograph weddings across the PNW and beyond. I love traveling to unique venues—whether that’s the Oregon coast, the San Juan Islands, or an international destination wedding. Local travel within 50 miles of Seattle is included in every package. For weddings farther away, travel fees are customized to cover mileage, flights, or accommodations. You’ll always receive a clear, upfront quote with no hidden costs.
What makes Vow House different from other wedding photographers?
Vow House blends fine art editorial style with photojournalistic storytelling. That means your gallery will be a mix of timeless, cinematic portraits and authentic, candid moments that tell the full story of your day. My approach is elevated but relaxed—you’ll feel comfortable, natural, and confident in front of the camera. Couples often describe my work as moody yet romantic, with a vintage-inspired edge that sets their wedding photos apart from the ordinary.
Do you shoot with assistants or other photographers?
For intimate weddings and elopements, I often cover the day solo. For larger weddings with more moving parts, I recommend including a second photographer. This ensures we capture multiple angles—like both of you walking down the aisle, candid guest reactions, and detailed behind-the-scenes moments. I only work with trusted second photographers whose style complements my own, so your final gallery feels seamless and consistent.
Do you also offer video services?
I specialize exclusively in wedding photography, as it allows me to pour my full creativity into capturing your day through still images. However, I work closely with an incredible network of Seattle and Pacific Northwest videographers. If you’re looking for video services, I’m happy to recommend professionals who share a similar editorial and cinematic style.
Will you edit all of our photos?
Yes! Every image you receive has been hand-edited in my signature Vow House style. I don’t batch-process or deliver unedited RAW files. Instead, I carefully refine each photo for color, tone, lighting, and mood—resulting in a cohesive gallery that looks timeless and elevated. This is where much of the artistry happens, transforming raw images into the cinematic photographs you’ll cherish forever.
How long will it take to receive our gallery?
You’ll receive a curated set of sneak peeks within one week of your wedding so you can relive those first memories right away. Your full gallery is delivered within 8–12 weeks. All images are presented in a private online gallery, where you can download, share with loved ones, and order fine art prints.
How many photos will we receive?
On average, couples receive 50-75 fully edited images per hour of coverage. For a full-day wedding, that usually means 450–700 images, depending on the size of your event, guest count, and flow of the day. Each gallery is curated to include all the important moments and artistic details without overwhelming you with duplicates.
What are your wedding photography packages?
I offer three thoughtfully designed collections that cover everything from essential wedding coverage to full-day storytelling. All packages include:
Professional photography coverage
An online gallery with unlimited downloads
High-resolution images with print rights
Hand-edited photos in the Vow House signature style
Many couples also choose to add engagement sessions, bridal portraits, or heirloom wedding albums. I’ll walk you through the options during your consultation so you can choose the package that best fits your vision.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. Vow House is fully insured, including both liability coverage and equipment protection. Many Seattle and PNW venues require proof of insurance, which I’m always happy to provide directly to your coordinator or venue manager. This protects both you and your venue and gives everyone peace of mind on your wedding day.
What happens if you can’t photograph our wedding as planned?
While it’s extremely rare, unexpected emergencies can happen. If I were ever unable to attend your wedding due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, I have a network of trusted, professional photographers I can call on.
What are your travel fees?
Local Seattle weddings (within 50 miles) are included in every package. For weddings farther away in Washington, Oregon, or other destinations, travel fees vary depending on mileage, flights, and accommodations. I always provide transparent pricing upfront, so there are no surprises. Destination weddings are quoted individually and often include discounted or custom rates.
Can we add engagement or portrait sessions to our package?
Yes! Engagement sessions are a wonderful way to celebrate your story before the wedding and to get comfortable in front of the camera. These sessions can be added to any wedding package, and many couples use the images for save-the-dates or wedding websites. I also offer anniversary, family, and couples portrait sessions for life beyond the wedding day. If you book 7 hours or more, you receive a complimentary 1 hour engagement shoot within 30 miles of Seattle.
Do you help with wedding day timelines?
Absolutely. Part of my role as your photographer is helping you plan a photo timeline that works seamlessly with the rest of your day. I collaborate with you and your planner to make sure portraits, candid moments, and key events all flow naturally. With years of experience photographing weddings in Seattle and throughout the PNW, I know how to anticipate lighting, weather, and timing so your day feels effortless.
